Capability test for bolting technology machines – Process capability test (PCT)
This standard describes methods for process capability tests (PCT) of residual torque in preloaded bolted joints. The aim of a PCT is to evaluate and document the capability of a fastening process under series production conditions.
It enables the identification of systematic influencing factors, the evaluation of process improvement measures, the definition of tolerances, and the establishment of control limits for quality control charts. Unlike machine capability tests (MCT), a PCT takes into account not only machine-related influences but also human factors, material, method, and environmental conditions.
