This standard describes a method for calibrating rotation angle measuring instruments in which the angle of rotation is measured indirectly or derived from a variable proportional to the angle. It covers factors influencing measurement uncertainty and the preparation of calibration certificates. Typically, this involves torque and angle encoder systems with a lever arm, i.e., so-called reference-armless torque angle wrenches. It is intended for users and manufacturers of rotation angle measurement systems, as well as calibration laboratories and service providers.
